Early Intervention

Foothills Gateway Early Intervention

Foothills Gateway Early intervention

About Us

Foothills Gateway Autism Collaboration Group

The  Early Intervention program at Foothills Gateway provides family centered  services to children ages birth to three in Larimer County who show a  delay in development. Services can include speech therapy, occupational  therapy, or developmental intervention. Services are provided through a  parent coaching model at no cost to families.

The  Autism Collaboration Group is a small group of Early Intervention  Services Coordinators who empower, inform, and support families through  coordination of early identification, evaluation and therapies for  children who are beginning to explore an autism diagnosis.  We provide  families with resources, knowledge, and compassion.

Colorado Department of Education Child Find

CDE Child Find

About Us

Child Find is part of Colorado's system for identifying children  suspected of having a delay in development. If a young child is not  meeting typical developmental milestones, or someone is concerned about  the child’s growth or learning, child find teams will evaluate how the  child plays, learns, speaks, behaves and moves. The purpose of the  evaluation is to determine if there is a significant delay or if there  is a need for early intervention or special education services.  Evaluations conducted by Child Find teams are at no cost to parents.

  • The purpose of the Child Find program is to locate and  identify preschool-aged children who live within the District boundaries  and demonstrate significant delay in one or more of the following  areas:
  • Academic/Intellectual (early learning/concepts, thinking, problem solving, preschool access skills)
  • Communication (articulation, language, fluency and voice)
  • Motor (fine gross sensory)
  • Social/Emotional/Behavioral
  • Self-help
  • Hearing and vision
  • Children can be referred to Child Find by a parent, doctor or other  agency. The process may begin with a developmental screening and when  appropriate, a comprehensive multi-disciplinary evaluation may be  conducted to determine eligibility for preschool special education  services.
  • Child Find is available to families at no cost.
